My dear friends in Paleochora!
Many months ago I bought my ticket to Crete, in April as usual. Last week I ordered taxi from the Psarakis-family, as usual. And I called my friend Georgia at The Blue Wave, just to talk and to feel a little closer to my favourite place.
But yesterday I realised that I will have to stay home. That there will be no trip this spring, and that’s unusual.
Here in Norway, as in so many other countries, we are trying to stop the Corona – virus. We cancel . We have to cancel..so many activities are cancelled. And one of the effects is that our trips abroad are cancelled. The insurance- companies tells us to stay home. As grandmother I am needed here if the schools and kindergartens are closed. And I do not want to be responsible for taking more virus with me…
This spring will be difficult for you. But I promise to come when we are back to normal.

- Anne Ly Bu I canncelled my flight for the same reasons. Maybe my grandchildren need me, maybe I need my family, maybe I need the Health System. For sure we all need Paleochora sooner or later.??n

Schweren Herzens haben wir uns heute dazu entschlossen unsere gebuchte Urlaubsreise im April2020 nach Paleochora zu stornieren. Trotz der sehr hohen Stornokosten war uns das durch COVID-19 ausgelöste Gesamtrisiko zu hoch.Obwohl zur Zeit nichts planbar ist – entweder geht die Welt unter oder in einigen Wochen hat sich der Hype um Corona in Wohlgefallen aufgelöst – hoffen wir so schnell wie möglich wieder in „unserem“ Paleochora zu sein.
Die Griechen sind sehr beunruhigt. Nicht so sehr wegen des Virus, sondern das die Saison in’s Wasser fällt.
Haben für Anfang Juni gebucht. Noch nicht storniert. Ich fürchte aber, der Flieger wird gar nicht abheben.
Wir wollen im Juni zum Matalafestival was wohl nicht stattfinden wird
Hoffen trotzdem das wir wenigstens nach Kreta fliegen können auch für September ist schon gebucht
Für uns kommt zumindestens jetzt keine Stornierung in Frage

Ich glaube nicht, dass sachon im Juni Reisen nach Kreta möglich sind.
Wer will denn garantieren, dass im Flugzeug und in den Hotels die notwendigen Abstände zur Eindämmung
eingehalten werden. In denmeisten großen Hotels lässt sich das All in Angebot überhaupt nicht realisieren. Auch an den Pools dürfte es niocht möglich, die notwendigen Abstände einzuhalten ohne die Anzahl der Gäste entscheidend zu reduzieren. Und die Hygiene in den Hotelbereichen ist (Toiletten, Bars, Pool etc. ) ist kaum kontrollierbar.
Alles sehr schade und deprimierend, doch der Urlaubv 2020, auf den ich mich ab Mitte Juni so gefreut hatte, dürfte wohl nur unter Missachtung aller Vernunftsregeln möglich sein.

ich bin da optimistisch, dass die Flüge zumindest ab dem 01.05. wieder aufgenommen werden.
Von daher könnte es für dich klappen.

ich wollte, wie in den vergangenen Jahren häufig, den E4 von Paleochora bis Sfakia mit dem Rucksack wandern und habe mich schon den ganzen Winter darauf gefreut. Leider zeichnet es sich ab, dass in der Zeit vom 1. bis 7. Mai der gebuchte Flug nicht stattfinden wird, das Wandern wegen der drastischen Beschränkungen unmöglich. Es macht ja auch keinen Sinn, wegen einer Wanderwoche zuvor 2 Wochen nach der Einreise in Quarantäne zu gehen. Mein Mitgefühl gilt den so herzlichen und gastfreundlichen Wirten.

Wir denken noch nicht daran, unseren Kreta-Aufenthalt im Juni 2020 zu stornieren. Bisher hat uns unser Reiseveranstalter auch noch nichts Gegenteiliges mitgeteilt, im Gegenteil, wir sollen noch gar nichts unternehmen. Bleiben wir alle gesund und sehen uns im Juni zum 28. Mal auf Kreta.
Eigentlich wollte Susie und ich nach Naxos, am Anfang Juni sollte es los gehen, aber die Angst ein Virus auf ein Insel zu schleppen, wäre für die Insulaner eine Katastrophe. Naxos hat ein kleines Krankenhaus sehr klein, die Einheimischen können nicht auf Hilfe rechnen, weder aus Athen oder sonst wo.
Also werden wir wohl Umbuchen auf September, mal sehen bis dahin.
Susie and i want to go to Naxos in June, but we are afraid that, a Virus on the Island would be a desaster for the Naxos people and Tourist, they have a very very small Hospital, and they can not expect much or any help from Athens or elswhere. so ich i think it will be wise for all to wait and see, maybe September, we hope so.
Wir wollten ab 3. Mai die kretische SüMal abwarten.dküste entlangwandern. Die Zimmerbuchungen haben wir storniert, den Flug mit Ryanair noch nicht.

Wir haben uns so gefreut, doch jetzt möchte doch KEINER MEHR verreisen.
Wir hoffen auf Kostenersatz, noch haben wir keinen Anspruch auf unser einbezahltes Geld, obwohl die Reise in den Osterferien stattfinden würde.
Diese Vorgehensweise finde ich UNVERANTWORTLICH.
Wir sind mit unseren Gedanken und unserem Herz bei euch Griechen. Doch ein Urlaub unter diesen Umständen wäre kein Urlaub!
Aufgeschoben ist nicht aufgehoben.

Flüge, Mietwagen, Zimmer in Marias Taverne schon lange gebucht und bezahlt, wir hoffen es geht sich für Juni noch aus, sonst werden wir schweren Herzens wohl auch stornieren müssen ? LG aus Österreich
Bisher denke ich noch nicht an stornieren für unseren Aufenthalt im Mai. Lediglich wenn Aegean airlines einstellt werden wir wohl Zuhause bleiben müssen.
